LaoHu Gong Shamanic Tiger Qigong

$185.00

Friday July 24th at 5pm to Sunday July 26th at 5pm.

A virtual 3 day retreat exploring the practice of LaoHu Gong and the energetics of the Daoist calendar.

Lao means both “old” and “shamanic” as the ancient Chinese recognized the shamanic wisdom of antiquity from which this form was born. Hu means Tiger, and is a reference to the Tigerlike goddess Xi Wang Mu, the grandmother crone deity who walks between worlds. She was an ancient goddess queen who lived on the mythic KunLun Mountain and is said to have taught LaoZi (author of the Tao Te Ching) everything he knew about the Dao.

To connect to XiWangMu is to connect to your own shamanic wisdom, as each of us are descendent from the ancient shamanic traditions of our bloodlines—no matter where your ancestors hailed from. This form is a summoning and remembrance.

The form itself is the story of the reincarnation and return to source of the shaman, following the 24 seasons of the Daoist solar calendar, the JiaJi.

Lectures will explore the energetics of the Daoist calendar, to help us learn how to align ourselves with the seasons of the earth and sky in order to move with nature and learn how to live according to old ways that keep us grounded in the physical cycles of reality.

On a physical level, this form opens, stretches and strengthens the tendons, moves the blood and centers the mind. Highly recommended for those in the healing professions who wish to establish and maintain their energetic boundaries and ability to show up with bravery and wisdom in difficult times.
